This event was hosted by Acterra, the Climate Action Leadership Team, and 350 Silicon Valley.
It’s a critical time for implementing climate solutions, and cities are key to reaching our goals. Across the Bay Area cities are pioneering electrification policies and programs that reduce building emissions and improve health, with a focus on equity. New funding from regional, state and federal sources, including the Inflation Reduction Act, is facilitating the transition to an all-electric future.
What have we learned, and where can we go next? Speakers at this online event included BlocPower CEO Donnel Baird, Building Decarbonization Coalition Executive Director Panama Bartholomy, Peninsula Clean Energy CEO Jan Pepper, Palo Alto Council Member Pat Burt, and San Mateo former Mayor Rick Bonilla. They shared newly available funding, policy and outreach tools for electrifying existing buildings. Elected officials, municipal staff, policy thinkers, and community advocates gained insights and ideas for viable and equitable next steps in their own cities.
