CEC studies environmental issues that come before local government and advocates for policies that address climate change, clean energy building codes, electric vehicles and EV charging stations, and other actions that ensure a more sustainable future.

Public Education

CEC sponsors free Green Programs on Hot Topics each year on a variety of current sustainability topics.

Partnerships

CEC collaborates with many local and regional organizations on sustainability programs and projects, magnifying our collective power to educate the public, create opportunities and drive positive change.

Partnerships include: San Mateo County County Office of Sustainability, Commute.org, Bike to Work Day, the Campaign for Fossil Free Buildings in Silicon Valley, TEAMC (a coalition working on equitable public transportation), Sustainable San Mateo County, the Sierra Club, Peninsula Food Runners, the Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Acterra: Action for a Healthy Planet, BAWSCA (Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency), the Beekeepers Guild of San Mateo County, San Mateo County Office of Education and Energy Upgrade California.
